Dr João Paulo Sousa, Coordinator of the Orthopaedics Department at Grupo HPA Saúde, will be a speaker at the Portuguese Robotic Surgery Conference, organised by the Portuguese Association of Robotic Surgery (APCIR), taking place on 4–5 July at the Pestana Palace Conference Centre in Lisbon.
In his presentation, Dr Sousa will share the Grupo de Ortopedia (GO) experience over the past two years, offering a comparative analysis of 366 procedures using conventional instrumentation, 591 using Patient-Specific Instrumentation (PSI) Visionaire, and 119 using the CORI® robotic surgical navigation system for knee arthroplasty. Beyond clinical and functional indicators, patient satisfaction scores stood out, with averages of 8.62, 8.74, and 8.99 respectively, reflecting the ongoing evolution and impact of robotic-assisted techniques.
Dr João Paulo Sousa participation reaffirms the commitment of both the Grupo de Ortopedia (GO) and Grupo HPA Saúde to research, innovation, professional development, and scientific knowledge-sharing. The statistical analysis was once again led by Prof. Ana Paula Fontes, Training and Research Consultant for Grupo HPA Saúde.
